I found an awesome website called Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom and they are doing giveaways all throughout October! So I’m going to enter every day, and let’s see if I win anything. :)
So today’s giveaways start with a retro witch rattle, from Indigo Squirrel. Go check out their Etsy website. They’ve got all sorts of retro looking tags and crafty projects.
Second giveaway is an awesome looking potion bottle with a gruesome looking green liquid in it! It’s being offered by Magical Muse Art, who has the cutest looking earrings for Halloween.
Third giveaway is a cute little bunny picture where he’s all dressed up for Halloween. You can find more bunnies in costumes at The Rabbit Room.
Fourth giveaway is a copy of the book Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. Since I’m reading the original Sense and Sensibility right now, this would be a wonderful addition to my bookshelf. Check out Irreference for more wonderful books of this ilk.

The 2nd annual Halloween Party. This year was awesome. People actually asked to be invited! I felt so loved. :) A lot more people showed up and it was so much fun! I dressed as a flapper from the 60’s. Jonathan went as the Burger King king, but hsi face kept “melting” slightly. Chris dressed up as a man riding an ostrich, with a blow up ostrich that was a pain to sit down in! Even the dogs joined us. Morgan wore a ghost cover, and Bailey wore a t-shirt that said “This is my Halloween costume!”. (Click the little image for the full size picture.)
The first official party at my place. A small group of close friends, but it was a blast! I dressed as a vampire (because I was broke that year and couldn’t buy a costume). Jonathan went as Jesus, and Chris dressed as some sort of ghoul with a white mask and a scythe. (Click little image for full size picture.)
Just a few photos. This was someone else’s party, but I wanted to put the pictures up. (Click the image for a larger version.)
Halloween has officially hit stores now! Although there’s quite a few stores that have only one or two aisles for Halloween, and then five or six for Christmas already. Whatever happened to Halloween? It’s getting totally blown over for Christmas already. Early September and we’re already Christmas shopping? Jeez.
Anyways, I did manage to find several goodies. I got some premade tombstones for my cemetery. I still plan to try and make my own, but at least I have some if mine fail, and if they succeed, I have even more. :)
I also got some really fun candy for gift bags. There will be a costume contest as usual, and the winners will get goody bags with candy and other fun stuff in them. Might do some gift cards, but I’m not sure. The guest list is getting pretty long, so I think there will be five categories this year, meaning five winners.
Here are the categories, so you can start thinking about your costumes now and maybe try to win one of the prizes!
- Best Overall,
- Most Humerous
- Most Sexy
- Most Original
- Most Scary
Okay, here we go! 52 days until Halloween! I’m finishing up invitations right now. I plan to upload all the pictures from the previous two years (which admittedly aren’t very abundant) so I can keep record of the past.
So the biggest news is that I’ve entitled my parties now. The Undead Cemetery. I’m not sure if I have enough time this year, but the plan is to create a cemetery in the backyard with foamboard tombstones. We’ll see how my time management goes this year, but it might have to wait until next year. Still, I like the name for a Halloween party. :)
Current goal is to get invitations out by next weekend at the absolute latest! Man, I feel like it’s right around the corner! Next project is my costume! I’m going to try to keep it a secret until the day of, but I know that will be hard for me. :D Anyways, enough chatter. I’m off to finish the invites!
