The History

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday.  Considering that my birthday falls the day beforehand, it was sort of like having two days of celebration instead of one.  I would have my party usually the weekend before or after, and then of course go trick-or-treating on Halloween itself.  Presents and candy!  Even though I’ve grown up, I still find Halloween the most exciting holiday.  When else is it appropriate for adults to dress in silly costumes, eat ungodly amounts of candy, and scare one another witless?

In 2007 I threw my first official Halloween party.  It was in our little two bedroom apartment with old movies playing in the background and a quick playlist of some popular music at the time.  It was a huge success.  Pictures were scandalous, stories were held as blackmail, and no one could stop talking about it for weeks.  After that, people asked to be invited to the next one!  I was stunned.  I knew I loved Halloween, but apparently my love and dedication to the holiday was not unfounded.

In 2008 we tried again, this time with a little more gusto.  More people showed up, more fun was had, and again, another success.  The tradition shall continue as long as we can.  This year, 2009, we have a house and a yard to decorate and roam around in.  The guest list continues to grow, as does my creativity and inspiration.  So please, join our celebration and help our spirit live on!
